Horizon Roofing and Construction is a family-owned company with a simple vision: high-level service and real value. Serving homeowners since 1999, we know how much a beautiful, weather-tight home matters, and we apply our experience and craftsmanship to enhance and protect every property we work on. We pride ourselves on our craftsmanship and take a pledge to focus on the details for each client.

We are a hands-on company, and we believe it is important that each job is personally attended to by the owner to ensure everything goes according to plan. We consider our company a family, and we aim to provide the same care and service for your family as we would our own.

Meet Jim Edwards, owner & lead roofer

Horizon is led by its owner, James (Jim) Edwards, a CertainTeed ShingleMaster with more than 25 years in the trade. Jim is on site for every Horizon job, from the first free inspection to the final magnetic nail sweep. Homeowners tell us again and again that what stood out was the straight talk: several options laid out, the price differences explained, and never a roof pushed on them that they did not need. That is exactly how Jim wants it.

Our 5-year guarantee, explained

We stand behind our product and our labor with a 5-year Contractors Workmanship Guarantee, and we think you deserve to know exactly what that means before you sign anything.

What it covers: for five years from completion, if a leak or defect traces back to how we installed your roof, siding, gutters or windows, we come back and make it right at no cost to you. That is the workmanship promise. Your shingles and other products also carry their own manufacturer warranties against material defects, and when a full CertainTeed Integrity Roof System is installed you become eligible for extended manufacturer coverage on top of ours.

What it does not cover: damage from storms, hail, fallen trees or other events (that is what homeowners insurance is for), problems caused by other contractors working on the roof after us, or issues from deferred maintenance. Manufacturer material defects are handled under the manufacturer's warranty rather than the workmanship guarantee.

Horizon Roofing & Construction LLC holds Michigan Residential Builder Company license #2102217439, and owner James Harrison Edwards holds Residential Builder license #2101204763. You should be able to check any roofer before you sign. Michigan residential builder licenses are issued by LARA's Bureau of Construction Codes, which can confirm any builder's license status by phone at 517-241-9313, and we are happy to send a certificate of insurance for your records or your HOA on request.
