At Horizon Roofing and Construction, we pride ourselves on delivering top-tier new roof installation that is built to last. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an aging roof, our expert team gives you a smooth, well-run project, using the highest quality materials and craftsmanship so your new roof meets and exceeds your expectations.
Michigan's climate, with its harsh winters, heavy snowfall and swinging temperatures, demands a roof that performs year-round. As a CertainTeed-credentialed contractor we bring both expertise and local knowledge, so your roof is tailored to the specific needs of a Michigan home.
The CertainTeed Integrity Roof System
Choosing the right roof system is as important as choosing the right contractor. A CertainTeed Integrity Roof System combines a leak-barrier, waterproofing underlayment, proper attic ventilation and premium shingles into one engineered system that works together for long-lasting performance, not just a stack of separate parts.
Industry-leading warranty protection
Every CertainTeed shingle carries standard SureStart protection, which fully covers your shingles against manufacturing defects in the vital early years after installation. When you install a full Integrity Roof System with a credentialed contractor, you become eligible for extended manufacturer coverage on both materials and workmanship.
Prefer another manufacturer?
We can work with any manufacturer's products, and all are available on request. CertainTeed is what we strongly recommend, but the choice is always yours, explained in plain terms with the price differences laid out.
What to expect on install day
We protect your landscaping and siding, tear off the old roof to the deck, and inspect every board before anything new goes down. Rotted or delaminated decking is replaced, the leak-barrier and underlayment go on in the correct order, ventilation is corrected, and the shingles are installed to CertainTeed's specification. At the end of each day we run a magnetic sweep for nails and haul away every scrap, so your property is left cleaner than we found it.
Signs it is time to replace, not repair
Curling, cupping or bald shingles across the roof, granules collecting in the gutters, daylight or water stains in the attic, and an age past 20 years all point to replacement. If more than about a quarter of the roof is affected, replacing is usually the better value than repeated patching. We tell you honestly which side of that line your roof is on.
The CertainTeed shingle lines we install
As a CertainTeed-credentialed contractor we install their full residential lineup and help you pick the right one for your home and budget. CertainTeed Landmark is the popular architectural shingle for most Michigan homes; Landmark Pro steps up the weight, warranty and color depth; NorthGate is a rubberized, cold-weather shingle built to resist cracking through Michigan's freeze-thaw; and Presidential Shake delivers a luxury, wood-shake look. We can also install other manufacturers such as GAF on request, and we lay out the price and warranty differences plainly.

Questions
Roof Replacement questions
How long will my new roof last?
A quality architectural shingle roof, properly installed and ventilated, commonly lasts 25 to 30 years or more in Michigan. Ventilation and installation quality matter as much as the shingle.
What is the Integrity Roof System?
It is CertainTeed's engineered system: leak-barrier, underlayment, ventilation and shingles working together, which also unlocks stronger manufacturer warranty coverage when installed by a credentialed contractor like us.
Will you remove my old roof?
Yes. We tear off to the deck, inspect and repair the wood, then rebuild the full system. We never simply shingle over a failing roof when a tear-off is the right call.
